Quiet Skin is a small online shop selling skincare for dry and sensitive skin. It's run by Gregory Buchanan in Cheshire, and it stocks independent British and European skincare. Gregory was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2024 and had to search very specifically for sensitive skin care products that helped with some symptoms of the disease.

Most beauty and personal care sites carry thousands of products nobody there has looked at. Listings get added automatically, descriptions get copied across, and if you email to ask what's in something, nobody can tell you. That's the thing this shop is set up not to be.

Everything here comes from a small UK or EU maker who is the named Responsible Person for their own products — meaning there is a real, identifiable company legally accountable for what's in the bottle, not an anonymous listing. Before anything goes on the site, we ask them to confirm that in writing.

Most of it comes from small companies who answer their own emails. That's the point of it.

What we can and can't tell you

If you want to know what's in something before you order, email me and I'll get the full ingredient list from the maker. That's worth doing if you react to fragrance — including on products described as natural, since essential oils are a common source of the fragrance allergens UK law requires to be declared.

What I can't do is give medical advice. Everything here is a cosmetic, not a medicine, and if you have a diagnosed skin condition that's a conversation for your GP or a pharmacist. I'd rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise.
