The Quiet Standard

We stock independent British and European skincare — brands you mostly won't find on the high street. Here's what a brand has to clear before we'll carry it.

1. Independent

Small and mid-sized makers, not high-street conglomerates. The kind of brand that answers its own emails.

2. Made in the UK or EU

No exceptions. Shorter delivery, and a cosmetics regime we can actually verify.

3. A named, accountable maker

Every supplier is the named Responsible Person for their products under the UK Cosmetics Regulation, and has notified each one on the government's SCPN portal. There is always a real, identifiable company standing behind what you buy — never an anonymous listing.

4. Something worth stocking

We're not trying to carry everything a brand makes. We pick the products that earn their place.

If you need to check an ingredient

Every product's full ingredient list is printed on its packaging. If you want to know what's in something before you order, email us and we'll get it from the maker for you.

If you react to fragrance, that's worth doing — including on products described as natural, because essential oils are a common source of the fragrance allergens UK law requires to be declared.

What we don't do

We don't make claims about skin conditions. Everything here is a cosmetic, not a medicine, and we're not qualified to tell you what will help with a diagnosed condition — your GP or pharmacist is.
