The Quiet Standard
We stock a deliberately tight range. Here's what everything has to clear before it goes on the site.
1. No added fragrance
No Parfum. No Fragrance. And no standalone fragrance allergens either — no Linalool, no Limonene, no Geraniol, no Citronellol.
This second part is where most "fragrance-free" skincare fails. Twenty-six fragrance allergens must be declared by name on a UK ingredient list. A product can carry several of them and still print fragrance-free on the front, because they came in through essential oils rather than as a fragrance blend.
We read the full list. Every time.
2. The full ingredient list is published
Every product page shows the complete INCI list, in order, visible without clicking anything. If we won't show you what's in it, we shouldn't be selling it.
3. Made in the UK or EU
No exceptions. It means shorter delivery, and it means the product sits under a cosmetics regime we can actually verify.
4. A named, accountable maker
Every supplier we work with is the named Responsible Person for their products under the UK Cosmetics Regulation, and has notified each one on the government's SCPN portal. We ask for confirmation in writing before we stock anything.
5. Screened before listing
Every ingredient list is checked, name by name, against the 26 fragrance allergens that must be declared under UK law. Anything that fails doesn't go on the site. It's why the range is small and why it grows slowly.
What we don't do
We don't make claims about skin conditions. Everything here is a cosmetic, not a medicine, and we're not qualified to tell you what will help with a diagnosed condition — your GP or pharmacist is. What we can tell you, precisely, is what's in the bottle.
